RIYADH – A plan has been designed to tackle any potential risk from dangerous viruses during this year’s Haj, according to Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeah, Minister of Health.
He said the Kingdom succeeded last year in tackling the H1N1 pandemic, Asharq Al-Awsat Arabic daily reported on Thursday.

JEDDAH – The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties is planning to reform health education institutions. “The current performance at health institutions is less than what we desire,” a source at the commission said. “Therefore, intensive efforts are needed.” The commission was appointed three weeks ago to supervise 122 health institutions and 28,000 students.

Hospitals Refuse to Treat Baby with Acampsia |

JEDDAH: A Saudi baby girl suffering from acampsia, a condition that causes stiffening of the joints, is reportedly being rejected by hospitals all over the Kingdom.
One-year-old Eilan is currently being supported by machines in the Maternity and Children’s Hospital in Taif.
Al-Madinah newspaper reported that the hospital is not equipped to treat her condition and none of the other specialist hospitals in the Kingdom is ready to accept her.

In addition, people are damaging their health by eating large amounts on an empty stomach.
