Scientific Achievements: I earned a Medical Doctorate (MD) in Community Medicine, Master Degree in Public & Tropical Health, Master Degree in Tropical Medicine & Infectious Diseases, Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health, Certificate of Diploma Course in Epidemiology & Biostatistics and a Bachelor’s degree in of Medicine & Surgery. Currently, I am working in the UAE as a Community Medicine Specialist, at Central Directorate of Preventive Medicine with Ministry of Health & Prevention where under the National Program of Expanded Immunization (EPI), I am managing National Poliomyelitis Eradication Program and National Program for Elimination of Measles and Rubella by following guidelines of Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Also I am technically supporting the National EPI program in maintaining high immunization coverage against: Poliomyelitis, Measles and Rubella. Conduction of random supervision visits is a key responsibility to me as implemented active surveillance activities at high priority sites could be verified. Prior coming to the UAE I had been working with the World Health Organization (WHO) in Sudan for six years where my professional technical support directed to eliminate spread of different Transfused Transmissible Infections (TTls) from the national blood safety system. So, I am able to obtain a substantial knowledge in: health promotion, , health systems, infection control, patient safety and clinical governance with highly developed soft skills which proven by successfully establishing proper referral link to deal with prevention, treatment and care services like: National HIV/AIDS Control Program and other national program related to different Transfused Transmissible Infections (TTls) eg: Hep B, Hep C and Sexual Transmitted Diseases (STDs) like VDRL. On that time I am lucky to participate in a huge socio cultural survey which had been jointly conducted by the WHO and Ahfad University to study how to properly mobilize potential blood donors. Later with National Blood Transfusion Services (NBTS) we conducted number of supportive supervision visits to ensure adherence of technical working staff to nationally developed quality standards and policies on, blood collection, screening, storage, utilization and disposal to fulfill the operational aspects of implementing principles of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Beside that as a trained assessor in blood banking by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) I frequently advised the assigned national committee about how to push through the accreditation process by standardizing procurement and quality monitoring systems for all used laboratory commodities like testing kids where this later facilitated the proper establishment of donor care service module at the NBTS to deliver donor counselling. Furthermore, I witnessed how our technical guidance to the NBTS shaped the official endorsed National Guidelines for Appropriate Clinical Use of Blood and I will never forget that this achievement had been shared as a learned lesson at one of the annual meetings of American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). I also never forget my working experience in field epidemiology as a Public Health Specialist with the WHO under Emergency Humanitarian Action Program (EHA) in West Darfur State, Sudan where we had coordinated a mass vaccination campaign targeting IDPs’ camps as response to control meningitis outbreak. In addition, to ensuring that health and nutrition programs were utilizing standardized protocols, policies and guidelines, as prescribed by WHO/UNICEF was one of my main tasks with EHA program where I gained a demonstrated experience in malaria rollback program activities related to clinical diagnosis and treatment of Malaria. One of best researches I did after a KAP study in DPH program about breastfeeding and complementary feeding is a partial fulfilment research for my Clinical MD in Community Medicine which focused on health promotion, where I have been proud to be sponsored by the organizers of the Pan Arab & 5th Gulf Co-operation Council in Kuwait as a key note speaker in the Blood Transfusion Conference to present the findings of MD thesis which titled: “Assessment of Motivating and Demotivating Factors of Voluntary Blood Donation among the Students of Khartoum State Universities”.
