The CIO of RMH Military Medical City, which is the largest hospital system in the Kingdom with over 9600 employees, 100 departments,1633 beds and 40 primary-care facilities in the central region
The HIT Consultant (delegation) for MSD, which consists of 26 military hospitals with over 5200 beds and 144 primary-care facilities all around the kingdom
The responsibilities of these roles extend over the operation of the integrated HIS systems, infrastructure and applications for the most diversified healthcare facility in the kingdom. These responsibilities also include:
o A member of the national Healthcare Information Technology Committee of MSD
o A member of the National Healthcare Services Commission committee for national Electronic Medical Records (EMR) implementation amongst the major healthcare providers in SA
o A member of the National Healthcare Services Commission committee representing MSD for the National Healthcare Information Technologies Strategic Plan
Key Accomplishments:
Aligned IT to the objective of the core line of business by transforming the conventional IT operation into Healthcare IT (HIT) operation and consolidated the scattered HIT island systems into one entity
Created a Central Data Repository, CDR, by consolidating data from various systems databases for business intelligence, knowledge management, data mining, and integration purposes
Introduced business intelligence and knowledge management tools for enriched and informed management, which impacted the operation especially in resources allocation and management
Originated and negotiated the implementation of a full range Health Information System with more than 14horizental clinical such as CPOE, Lab, Pharmacy, Intensive-care, Emergency, and Nursing
Negotiated with an international consultancy firm the master plan for the new hospital project, that occupies 9 square kilometers in the north of Riyadh, will add another 7000 beds in 3 phases making RMH the largest hospital system in the world (Delegated by the head of MSD)
Managed the involvement of the MSD the National EMR platform commissioned by the National Healthcare Services Commission and Proposed, originated, prioritized a number of medium size and mega projects both local and national level
Embraced and initiated the adoption of new medical technologies by concentrating on clinical systems which shifted the operation of the whole organization tremendously
Implementing aggressive structural changes in information technology use that improved the efficiency of the operation more than 75 to 85% in some departments
Reduced software operational downtime tremendously by implementing failover and redundancy of operationally critical healthcare information systems
Authored plan to improve software development process, consolidate/upgrade systems and establish consistent hardware/software standards to eliminate unstable operating environment
Manage large team that consists of 6 senior manager and around 130 HIT, general IT, and information management professionals in addition to extended teams of around 50 professionals in different affiliated facilities
Slashed out manual processes in various departments by 50%, which resulted reduction in overhead costs and altered staffing model increasing on-time delivery of tasks by 90%
Developed a strategic master plan and introduced new initiatives concerning HIT implementation and support, ERP, systems reliability, application development, and hardware acquisitions |

I was assigned to establish a Medical Informatics Research and Development Center from scratch as the first of its kind in the Middle East with a business scope comparable to a large size IT firm:
Responsible of an ambitious and visionary projects to create Health Information Systems for the Military Hospital Network.
Implement BPM based automation to automate Healthcare processes to contain costs
Extract business roles from the healthcare line of business and integrate various healthcare applications, restructuring resources, and define the enterprise architecture including the following:
o Business process management (BPM)
o Business process management Automation
o Business process reengineering and impact analysis

Steered strategies, project evangelization, master planning and managerial initiatives to drive organizational performance to world-class levels
