Added On : 30th July 2011

TABUK – Dysfunctional air-conditioners in the women’s internal medicine department of King Khaled Hospital here have been causing a lot of trouble to the patients. Some patients have even bought their own fans to beat the offensive weather.

Umm Mohamad, one of the patients, said that “I’ve been here for 10 days and every day the air-conditioner gets worse. I decided to buy an electric fan myself.”

Some embarrassed nurses and doctors have said that the air-conditioners of the department have not been functioning well for about a year.

“The women’s internal medicine department is the only department that has bad air-conditioners. The Ministry of Health knows about it for a year now but nothing has been done so far,” a nurse, who requested anonymity, said.

Muhammad Ali Al-Towaili, Acting Director General of Health Affairs in Tabuk region, said the problem occurred due to an increased use of electricity.
