H1N1 Vaccine is Safe

Added On : 27th November 2009

Dear friends,

Please allow me to introduce myself.  My name is Majdy Idrees and I am a pulmonologist (lung doctor) working in Saudi Arabia (the only reason I am introducing myself and my career is to tell you that I should know what I am talking about, as this topic falls within my speciality)

Now let me comment on the topic:

The swine flu vaccine was tested in few major medical studies.  The results of these studies were published few weeks ago in the New England Journal of Medicine, which is one of the most respected Journal in the field of Medicine. The results confirmed that the vaccine was very effective (> 85%) and also very safe, apart from mild local side effects at the site of injection (pain, irritation, redness,,,etc) .  Subsequently, both the FDA and the WHO (which are considered the most prestigious and trusted medical institutes worldwide) approved the vaccine.

During the last few weeks, more than 10,000,000 individuals (mostly in USA & Europe) have received the vaccine, and to date there is no indication that the vaccine is carrying any significant potential risk.

Clearly, we cannot say that the vaccine has no long-term side effects simply because the long-term data is not available, but all previous similar vaccines' side effects appeared within 4-6 weeks after receiving the vaccine, and we are now beyond this period with the swine vaccine.

Obviously, all noises within the media about the side effects of this vaccine (such as paralysis, seizures, Alzheimer, dystonia (muscle-related disease) are faked and NOT medically proven.

I would urge everybody to stop contributing to this "brain washing" attempts, and lets try to be scientific and "reasonable" in dealing with this matter.

Personally, I do not know why the Finland minster was talking about the vaccine and I am not aware about her intention, but I hope that we (as a nation) stop attributing everything to the western conspiracy and start joining other nations in their scientific development.

Kind regards to you all

Majdy Idrees
