VACCINATION CAMPAIGN FOR FIRST GRADERS

RIYADH The Ministry of Health will
launch a campaign to vaccinate first grade students during the next academic year, Al-Watan reported.

Dr. Hamad Al-Mane said the campaign follows decisions by Middle East ministers of health at the World Health Organization aiming to eradicate measles, mumps
and rubella by 2010.
Deputy Assistant of Preventive Medicine, Dr. Khaled Al-Zahrani said the
Health Ministry coordinated the 5-week campaign with the Ministry of Education to vaccinate 95 percent of the half-a-million first grade students in private
and public schools. The campaign would begin by the second week of the next academic year and will be carried out by teams from primary health centers in the
